Interesting book review posted on Bleed Cubbie Blue.
Mainly, I became wrapped up in the comment thread about when exactly Wrigley’s Clark & Addison marquee changed colors from blue to red (happened during the 1960′s).
Anyway, it’s amazing how sometimes the slightest change make all the difference.
Think Chicago Cubs and inevitably Wrigley Field’s red marquee comes to mind…often even before the realization of the club’s 101-year championship drought!
Also, I came across this site while searching for the uniform number worn by the Cubs all-time career wins leader, Charley Root.
In an earlier post about the Cubs retiring No. 31 in honor of Fergie and Maddux, I mentioned that I had yet to discover the uni number worn by Root during his days with the Cubs.
As it turns out, Root was No. 4., making this the next retired number that should be flying atop Wrigley.
