The Rockies are tougher than you might think.
They have a 14-game winning streak against NL Central opponents and have also gone 39-17 since June 4, the best winning percentage in the majors since that date.
Lots of credit goes to its starting staff, which is tied for the major league lead in quality starts (67).
Plus, the staff as a whole has issued the second fewest walks in the NL, and closer Huston Street leads the NL with 28 saves, including 20 straight.
Jim Tracy took over for the fired Clint Hurdle on May 29 and has managed nearly as many games with the Rockies (62) as he played as a fourth-round draft pick in parts of two seasons with the Cubs (87).
Under Tracy the Rocks are 41-21, and most importantly, contending again for the NL Wild Card.
So no, this isn’t the 2007 NL Pennant winning Rockies…this team is better!
The Cubs, obviously, better bring the bats to the Mile High city because winning this series won’t come easily.
