Did myself a huge favor Saturday afternoon.
I followed the Cubs online instead of viewing the game on television.
I figured this way I wouldn’t be as susceptible to the frustrations that stem from watching an offense that stinks to the high heavens.
As intended, the move worked in my favor with the Cubs going hitless, once again, with RISP (0-for-9).
Turns out the only thing I truly missed online was Andres Blanco’s amazing defensive stop in the fourth inning.
The recorded out was simply listed online as ‘groundout–shortstop Blanco to D. Lee,’ but of course, it was anything but routine!
It’s arguable the best web-gem any Cubs has turned in this season, the lone exception coming in early April when Reed Johnson robbed Prince Fielder of a grand slam in Milwaukee.
Phew, four more weeks of Cubs baseball.
It’s like the season that never ends, no matter how you watch it.
