Finally some Autumn Thunder.
And no, I’m not talking about the Cubs’ sweep in Pittsburgh this week.
I’m talking NFL football, the saving grace for Cubs fans in September.
Without football season we’re left with four more weeks of meaningless baseball games in Chicago, North and South Side.
It’s been two years since I’ve given two-hoots about Week 1 in the NFL, but of course, the Cubs were still chasing October the past two seasons.
Not so much the case this year, now 8.5 games out of the Wild Card.
So until baseball’s postseason comes calling in late November or December, or whatever month the season now stretches too, I’m all for watching a little football on the side.
Thank goodness for Bears vs. Packers Sunday night!
