Bobcat Pride!
Unbelievable. My Ohio Bobcats as official bracket busters!
Not in a million years!
Wonder if Bob Brenly, Ohio class of ’76, picked the Cats over Georgetown? Or how about Ohio grads Peter King, Jay Mariotti and Thom Brennaman?
Did anyone, for that matter, pick the Cats to topple G-Town? I certainly didn’t. In fact, I placed the Hoyas in the Elite Eight. But of course, I couldn’t be happier for the ol’ alma mater.
Ohio reaches March Madness about as often as the Cubs do. But actually winning a tournament game, dear lord, that’s a story in itself. We’re talkin’ Cubs in the World Series kind of territory!
The shock of beating Georgetown may take hours, days or even months to set in. But following comes the wonderful state of pure bliss, that ‘I can die happy’ sort of feeling. A championship feeling that continues to take shape in places like New Orleans, and coming soon, Athens, Ohio.
No doubt a World Series title on the North Side would have the same appeal. But that’s crazy talk, right?
I mean, what’s next, the Bobcats trouncing Tennessee in Rd 2, the Saints winning the Super Bowl.
C’mon people, that would never happen!

Great game! I was rooting for you and your school!
It really was a terrific effort on Ohio’s part.
Georgetown had no answers defensively…the Cats would not be denied.
Bring the support for Rd 2 against Tennessee, for certain we’ll need it.
Who knows how long the slipper will fit?
George Mason, what!
Brian I have followed your blog for sometime now. Didn’t realize you were an OU grad….so am I. Congrats to a fellow Bobcat. Cheers!
Go Bobcats!
Glad to hear it, Ryan!
STAND UP & CHEER…O-H-I-O!
You may not believe this Brian, but I picked OU for the upset in my bracket.
You might be the only one!
Ohio thanks you:)
