By bullpenbrian at 12.29.2010 Leave a comment.

Cubs.com writer, Carrie Muskat, detailed the top story lines of the Cubs’ 2010 season. I’ve highlighted parts of her article below.

The Cubs never got above .500.
They were 22-32 in one-run games.
Those 32 losses were the most in baseball.
The starting pitchers led the NL in quality starts.
Aramis Ramirez posted a .207 average in the first half.
Mike Quade’s record as manager (24-13).
Carlos Marmol saved more than half (38) of the Cubs’ 75 wins.
He also set a MLB record by averaging 15.99 strikeouts per nine innings.
Alfonso Soriano and Derrek Lee each hit their 300th home run.

Cubs’ 2010 top story lines:
5. Piniella’s early exit and Quade’s strong finish
4. Zambrano’s roller-coaster season
3. Starlin Castro’s dazzling debut
2. Tyler Colvin’s bat attack
1. Departures of Lilly, Theriot, Fontenot and Lee
