Super Bowl XLV Recap

By bullpenbrian - February 7, 2011 - 1:00 am 2 comments.

We got the big game most of us expected.
What we didn’t get was Steelers football.
Three turnovers, INT returned for a TD, silly penalties.
Aaron Rodgers was stellar and established himself as an elite QB.
This despite five dropped passes, one likely for a TD.
Green Bay put 15 players on IR this season, six starters.
Then they lose Woodson and Driver and yet, still find a way to win.

Although I truly respect the Steelers, there’s no team I dislike more. In particular, No. 7, who thank goodness we don’t have to hear about being HOF bound. No doubt, I’ll always have a soft spot for the Packers for winning Super Bowl XLV!

On a side note, I’m a huge Black Eyed Peas fan. But the halftime performance didn’t work for me. There were a few good wrinkles, like adding Usher, but overall they sounded bad throughout. Not going to lie about it, their act was less than memorable, which was a disappointment.

As my old pappy use to say “listen to me son when I’m talking to you.” Well, congratulations, Dad, you win Super Bowl Bash XI! I guess you’re not fit for Sunny Acres Retirement Village, after all.

Thanks to everyone who participated with a pick. And good going if you had the Packers winning it all! Look forward to doing it again next year.
