Longest Hitting-Streaks Of Recent Memory
Although Andre Ethier sat out Wednesday’s afternoon game nursing a sore elbow against the Cubs , we did get to see him extend his hitting-streak to 29-games with a single against Dempster late Tuesday night.
Yet, while I’m all for following a good hitting-streak, another part of me wanted to see Ethier’s run end against Chicago. But hey, the Cubs still had two games to get him! No dice.
Meanwhile, here’s a quick list of some of the longest hitting-streaks in recent memory:
-36: Jimmy Rollins, 2005
-35: Chase Utley, 2006
-30: Moises Alou, 2007
-30: Willy Tavarez, 2006
-30: Ryan Zimmerman, 2009
-29: Johnny Damon, 2005
-29: Andre Ethier…in progress
