Cubs Don’t Win Series Or Sundays

By bullpenbrian at 05.10.2011 Leave a comment.

What is it about Sundays? It’s the only day the Cubs have yet win a game.

They’re (0-6) on Sundays with losses, in order, against Pit, Mil, Col, LAD, Arz & Cin.

What’s worse?

Six times they’ve entered a Sunday contest looking to win a series. No cigar…no dice…not one single Sunday win.

Flip the Cubs’ (0-6) Sunday record and lo & behold, Chicago is (21-12). That’s good enough for first in the division. Good enough for a one-game lead over rival St. Louis.

Reality, however, tells us the Cubs can’t close a series…or hit with runners in scoring position…or win three games in a row.

I only wish Sundays had anything to do with it.
